What tools will you need access to for MoT events and community?

Ministry of Testing utilises a wide range of online tools to host our various events and training sessions. It’s likely if you’re using a work machine to attend our many events, you will require access to the tooling we use. To help make sure you have access upfront, you can learn more about each of the tools we use and what permissions you might need below:

Slack

Our Ministry of Testing slack is used for global discussions about a wide range of topics on testing and is one of the main places in which our community gathers.

  • Access to the website

Crowdcast

We’ve used Crowdcast for many years to host our webinars, 99 Minute Workshops and our Ministry of Testing Meetups as it enables us to broadcast to a large group of people with ease.

Permission requirements

Crowdcast requires the following

  • Access to view video and audio
  • Access to share your video and audio (If you are speaking on a Crowdcast event)

Hopin

We use Hopin for our larger online TestBashes such as TestBash World and our various themed online TestBashes throughout the year. Features include the ability to watch our talks, network with others and interact with Sponsors via online booths.

Twitter

Our Ministry of Testing Twitter account is jam packed with social questions, events and content alerts. But we've also recently been running Twitter Spaces that members can either listen in on or join in an speak at.

Butter requires the following

  • Access to the website
  • Access to the Twitter App (If speaking on the Twitter space)

Butter

We’ve recently started experimenting with Butter for some of our online events such as Thursday Testing Tea, 99 Minute Challenges and more. Butter gives us the ability to create a more seamless experience for our events that require more online participation.
